Information about Dr. Padolsky
There is no TMJ Disorders specialty recognized by the American Dental Association, so no one can really claim to be a TMJ Specialist. However, Dr. Padolsky comes very close. He is very interested in this area and has be treating TMJ patients since 1982.
Unfortunately, most dentists are no longer interested in TMJ treatment because medical and dental insurance companies have made it very difficult to get reimbursed. At the same time, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry have flourished. Dentists are doing well and because of the economics of treating patients in an area of very limited reimbursement, very few dentists are interested in treating TMJ patients. Additionally, more and more information about TMJ syndrome is being found. Its management now resembles the practice of medicine which makes most dentists uncomfortable.
Because of his interest in TMJ syndrome and TMJ treatment, other professionals who have heard of Dr. Padolsky by word of mouth have been referring TMJ patients to him. Atlanta recently lost the two dentists who provided most of the TMJ services in the area and there is a big void. This has caused Dr. Padolsky some concern and he has decided to open his practice to TMJ patients.
