Information about Dr. Padolsky

There is no TMJ Disorders specialty recognized by the American Dental Association, so no one can really claim to be a TMJ Specialist. However, Dr. Padolsky comes very close. He is very interested in this area and has be treating TMJ patients since 1982.

Unfortunately, most dentists are no longer interested in TMJ treatment because medical and dental insurance companies have made it very difficult to get reimbursed. At the same time, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry have flourished. Dentists are doing well and because of the economics of treating patients in an area of very limited reimbursement, very few dentists are interested in treating TMJ patients. Additionally, more and more information about TMJ syndrome is being found. Its management now resembles the practice of medicine which makes most dentists uncomfortable.

Because of his interest in TMJ syndrome and TMJ treatment, other professionals who have heard of Dr. Padolsky by word of mouth have been referring TMJ patients to him. Atlanta recently lost the two dentists who provided most of the TMJ services in the area and there is a big void. This has caused Dr. Padolsky some concern and he has decided to open his practice to TMJ patients.

Dr. Padolsky taught continuing education courses for dentists at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry. He is also a Fellow and past President of the Atlanta Craniomandibular Society.

Dr. Mark Allan Padolsky has been recognized as a Master by the American Academy of General Dentistry and as a Fellow by the American Orthodontic Society. He is a general dentist with broad interests in his field and continues to actively learn by reading and frequent attendance at many continuing education course every year. This allows Dr. Padolsky and the dentists at the Atlanta Dental Group PC to provide comprehensive dental services to all of their patients.

Dr. Padolsky received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the Emory University School of Dentistry in 1982. He was an honors clinical student and participated in the honors periodontal and honors clinical programs. Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Padolsky was a researcher at the Harvard School of Public Health.

He received his Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 1977 and was recognized by Phi Beta Kappa that same year. He grew up in Chelsea, Massachusetts, a bedroom community of Boston.
